Beloved in Christ,

As we embark upon the sacred journey of Holy and Great Lent, our Mother, the Church, calls each of us to enter more deeply into the mystery of repentance, prayer, fasting, and love.

This holy season is not only a time of abstinence, but also of renewal of the heart—of returning to the Father’s embrace, as the Prodigal Son once did, and rediscovering the beauty of God’s image within us. As St. John Chrysostom reminds us:  “Repentance is the medicine which destroys sin; it is a heavenly gift, a grace beyond compare.”

In this spirit of reflection and growth, St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church of El Paso, in collaboration with St. Basil the Great Church of Kansas, joyfully announces a series of Virtual Lenten Spiritual Meetings via Zoom to nurture our faith and strengthen our communion in Christ.

Each session will take place every Thursday at 8PM Central/7PM Mountain Time during the five weeks of Holy and Great Lent, corresponding to the themes of the five Lenten Sundays.
