Feeding the Homeless

From the earliest days of the Christian Church, the faithful have been called to help those around us in need. Working in conjunction with St. Mary of Egypt Orthodox church, St. Basil has been putting our faith into action in a monthly meal for the homeless.

For almost five years, St. Basil The Great Orthodox Church has contributed to the feeding of the homeless through a simple supper prepared at no charge on the first Friday of every month. The event takes place at the mission kitchen of St. Mary of Egypt Orthodox Church in Kansas City, Missouri, and over the years we have fed many hundreds of needy men, women and children, blessing our brothers and sisters in poverty even as the ministry blesses us as well.

Contributions are badly needed to continue this ministry. In addition to the donation basket that is always available during coffee hour, donations can be made at any time in the offertory, as long as the checks are clearly designated.
